Raynor and Ollie were married on New Year's Eve 2016 at Hartshill Church, Stoke-On-Trent followed by a garden marquee at their home in Newcastle-Under-Lyme.
I was thrilled to be asked by Raynor to capture their wedding day as she is a beautiful friend that I attend an adult major ballet class with at Jill Clewes School of Performing Arts. Knowing how elegant and graceful Raynor is, I knew she was going to look just stunning on her wedding day.
I hadn't met her fiancee, Ollie, until just prior to the wedding day but they make an adorable couple, both of them witty, charming and unpretentious. They chose to have their wedding day on New Year's Eve so that they could throw a big party for their friends. A lot of work went into organising a big marquee for this in their back garden!
Bridal prep also took place and their home. Raynor's beautiful, blush wedding gown was from Essence of Australia and was just perfect setting off her tiny waist and reflecting her love for ballet. Raynor's amazingly talented mum made all of the glamorous sequined bridesmaids' dresses - which were each differently coloured silver, gold and rose gold - as well as the gorgeous flower girl's dress. Equally talented, Raynor's sister put together the flowers for the day including the bridal bouquet whilst also performing bridesmaid duties!
The church ceremony took place at the Holy Trinity Church in Hartshill and I have to say Reverend Chris Rushton was so accommodating in order for me to capture what I needed during the ceremony, he himself having once been a photojournalist for a local newspaper. Thank you if you are reading this :-)
Raynor and Olly didn't require us to cover the speeches and dancing so our day was done once we had whisked the bride and groom away for a few portraits. It was a very dull and overcast day and at 3pm on New Year's Eve not a great deal of light but we captured some beautiful images nontheless (not to mention it was freezing but they braved the cold anyway).
Congratulations Raynor and Ollie, thank you so much for having us there to document your wedding. I am sure a good time was had by all with lots of partying and dancing into the New Year.
Here are some of my favourite images :-)
