This is the first time I've had the opportunity to shoot a wedding at the stylish Belle Epoque Restaurant in the centre of Knutsford, Cheshire. The food here is amazing, service second to none and it is an elegant and stylish venue for a wedding with gorgeous decor. From a photographers point of view, it can, however, be quite a challenge, especially during the ceremony, as the ceremony room's decor, whilst stunning, is pretty dark. However, I was up for the challenge and VERY excited to be documenting a wedding day here.
Sophie was super elegant in her beautifully feminine David Fielden gown from Amy Louise Bridal Gowns of Nantwich. Edward cut a dashing figure looking, in my opinion, not unlike a young Hugh Grant. Not forgetting the amazing Manolo Blahnik shoes, as featured on Sex & The City, which we were all swooning over and Luckinka Hodnett worked beautifully with Sophie's hair and makeup.
Sophie's bouquet and the rest of the wedding florals were by the amazing Emma Fawcett-Eustace Flowers. I haven't worked with Emma before but hope that our paths may cross again as her work is beautiful.
I just loved the wedding favours - Lindt chocolate bunnies with ribbons around their necks matching the purple colour scheme of the day. It was Easter Sunday after all so a perfect choice for an Easter wedding.
The first dance was to live music and vocals by Nadeem Leigh who was a contestant in The Voice 2013. Sophie is a big fan and he agreed to travel up to Cheshire from the south just for their wedding. Nadeem provided the music for the rest of the evenings celebrations.
Sophie & Edward's story is simple, they were high school sweethearts, together from the age of 16. Both of them went their separate ways to go to university and, as Sophie's mum talked about in her speech (yes, the mother of the bride gave a speech too which was very moving), prepared for the fact that their relationship may not stand the test of distance and time. This wasn't the case at all, their love grew stronger and on finishing university and settling into their respective careers, Sophie as a nurse and Edward a career in IT industry, got married.
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Morris! You are both young and have your whole married life ahead of you to look forward to. I wish you best of luck.
