2013 was quite a year for me. My first full year offering wedding photography as part of my services was probably the most major decision I've made. I can't believe that with so little advertising and marketing how this side of my business has grown. Having invested a lot of time in training I have learned so much over the year. I've also had some fabulous, insightful opportunities to second shoot weddings with the super talented Kate Hopewell Smith to whom I owe so much for all I've learned over the course of this year (and in previous years for her training in photographing children and boudoir).
When I started my business I wanted to focus purely on lifestyle photography of children and families. Whilst I still love capturing children and want to carry on doing this (and couldn't NOT do it!), I had an opportunity at the beginning of last year to second shoot a wedding with the talented Andrea Ellison. This was the catalyst for me launching into weddings as I realised just how much I actually loved capturing those precious moments and never realised until then how I love all things pretty to do with weddings! So thank you Andrea in 2012 for that! 2013 for me was building on this new found love of weddings - and it's been a great year.
Last year I also developed some wonderful relationships with suppliers in the wedding industry and with their help shot two inspirational bridal shoots which were a lot of hard work but a LOT of fun!
In addition to weddings, in 2013 I've invested in training to further develop my boudoir photography. Again, after training with Kate Hopewell Smith, an outstanding boudoir photographer, this side of my business is also growing.
2014 is going to be no less exciting for Jade Osborne Photography; with some amazing couples and weddings throughout the year as well as children's portraits and boudoir sessions (including bridal boudoir!) lined up I will still be investing my time and money into even more training.
What I love most of all about my work is the insight into other people's lives and their stories. I strive to capture and present this in my images and I do hope that I manage to achieve this. And I'm so looking forward to doing so in 2014. Here are some of my favourites from 2013. I hope 2014 brings you all joy and happiness; and I look forward to capturing those moments for some of you too :-)
